Almost all JavaScript developers use Chrome every day, do you know how it became the browser overlord? Why does Google make a browser? In fact, Google's co-founders Larry Page text message service and Sergey Brin wanted to make a browser as early as 2001, but Schmidt, the CEO at the time, always objected, because the cost of developing a browser from scratch was too high for a startup company to afford of. Therefore, Google did not start a browser until 2006, the company had been listed for 2 years, and Chrome was officially released after secret development for 2 years. Google really started to develop Chrome in 2006, when IE's market share was as high as 80%, and Firefox text message service was about 10%. Since beating Netscape, IE seems to be able to sit back and relax. If someone wanted to do a browser at that time, most people would question, why do you need multiple browsers? IE and Firefox are not unusable. However, the Web in 2006 is no longer a simple static page, and complex Web applications such as Gmail, Youtube, Google Maps, and Facebook have been around for a while, and traditional browsers have gradually become less and less in terms of architecture, performance and text message service stability. Again, this is when a more powerful browser is needed to meet the needs of users and web developers. The most important thing Google does is to rank thousands of web pages, so its meaning is web-based. And a faster and better browser can promote the development of Web technology. There will be more and more web pages, and users will spend more and more time on the Web, which is beneficial to Google. Therefore, Google wants to do a browser, not just want a search portal so simple. It's no secret that Google hopes to use the Chrome browser to promote the development of web technology to benefit itself. People on the Chrome team say so. Google's current CEO is Sundar Pichai.
